HYDROECO-LAB (HEL)

Section CIMI (Costruzioni Idrauliche Marittime e Idrologia) of Politecnico di Milano announces hereby the launching of the HydroEco-Lab (HEL) initiative. This is aimed to informally convey some of the activities of section's personnel towards a common intent in moving forward knowledge in the field of Hydroecology, i.e. of the number of feedbacks between hydrological cycle and natural biota, consistently with present awareness in the field of earth system sciences, indicating this as a primary task for prospective exploitation of water resources in a sustainable manner.
Activity of the group includes fostering of seminars upon topics related to hydroecology, delivering of talks at national and international congresses, publication of papers on peer reviewed journals, as well as tentative development of national and international scientific projects in this area, joint with other scientific institution from Italy and abroad. We therefore invite personnel from Politecnico di Milano, as well as from other scientific institutions to informally join our group's activity here forward and we encourage them to keep in contact with scientists from our group whenever they might be interested

Prof. Renzo Rosso of CIMI Division was awarded the 2010 Darcy Medal of European Geoscience Union EGU, established to "Honour outstanding scientists whose work is relared to Water Resources Management and Engineering" CIMI division scientists deeply acknowledge Renzo Rosso for such award, and especially for the daily tireless commitment he devotes to the cause of hydrological sciences, which places him among the most renowned scientists in hydrological sciences, and sheds honour upon the whole institution of Politecnico di Milano.
